Admission is free, and military identification is not required, although admittance to the Depot requires a photo identification card, driver's license, and proof of insurance if driving aboard base.


The Museum's mission is to provide an educational setting that portrays the legacy of the Marine Corps for the training of recruits and the continuing education of Marines, that functions as a supporting arm to the recruiting effort, and that serves as a bridge to the civilian community.

The MCRD Command Museum boasts one of the most extensive and comprehensive displays of Marine Corps historical items in the Nation.The Museum has over 150,000 annual visitors and occupies 22,233 square feet of indoor space.
