The Huntington Library collection is full of rare books and manuscripts in the fields of British and American history and literature. There is a general public library as well as a qualified researcher library. In total, there are more than 6 million items, including the Ellesmere manuscript of Chaucer's Canterbury Tales and a Gutenberg Bible on vellum. The library also has a large collection of materials on the American west and its settlement including the development of Southern California.

The Art Collection hosts a comprehensive collection of 18th and 19th century British and French Art, including Gainsborough's Blue Boy and Lawrence's Pinkie. There is also a collection of American art ranging from the 1690s to 1950s. The collections include paintings and sculptures.

The Botanical Gardens are beautifully arranged over rolling gardens and feature a Rose Garden, Desert Garden, Japanise Garden, and Chinese Garden, among others. There is also a Botanical Education Center with 'teaching' gardens.

They are also known for their Tea Room and Cafe.
