The museum is dedicated to preserving and displaying aircraft history and artifacts of Southern California's aviation heritage. The museum offers an inside look at completed and in-progress aircraft restoration projects.
The collection include numerous warbirds, aircraft and target drones, piston and jet aircraft engines, aircraft components, ejection seats, WWII instruments, aircrew accessories, and an extensive model aircraft collection.
They also have special events including the Celebrity Lecture Series.

Not only does the museum house display historic treasures, the museum itself was designed to copy an authentic depot station. The museum is dedicated to the proud era of the steam engine.
You can tour the museum exhibits as well as get up close to the locomotive and caboose. Also on display are a Union Oil Tank Car, Water Tower, and huge mural.

Phineas Banning was instrumental in the building of the Port of Los Angeles, and the extensive network of stage and freight routes that connected the port east to San Bernardino and south to Fort Yuma.
The Banning Residence was built in 1864, and the 23-room residence is an example of domestic Greek Revival architecture in Southern California. The house interiors have been restored to their Victorian Beauty. Collections include decorative arts, dolls, fans, furniture, textiles, as well as carriages.
The Residence stands on 20 acres of parkland managed by the City of Los Angeles Dept of Recreation and Parks, and also includes the stagecoach, barn, and gardens.
The Friends of Banning host several events including tea, a Victorian Christmas, and concerts.

This 87 acre Botanic Garden has more than 2500 different species of plants from as far away as Australia, the Mediterranean, and southern Africa. The garden is situated in Sunset's Zone 23, one of the most favored growing areas in the world.
What to see: About 100 trees and shrubs are rare mature specimens; abundant wildlife and bird population; Mediterranean, Rose, Water-Wise, Cactus, Children's, Fuchsia, Dahlia, Herb, and Japanese Gardens; tram tours.
They also have many special events including theater and music performances on the lawn, and numerous societies and clubs meet there.

A really neat collection of over a hundred classic, antique, vintage, and interesting cars. But the coolest thing about this museum is that every Sunday, they pull 3-4 cars out of the collection and offer rides. The cars rotate, so you can try several cars over several weekends. Their calendar lists which cars will be available.
This museum is located in an assuming business park near Boeing, and so the roads are quiet on the weekend - perfect for the Sunday drives.
ADM also has a growing research library, and a number of docents available to provide tours of the museum. They often have special events, car shows, etc - check their calendar.
