A former police car warehouse in Little Tokyo renovated by the noted California architect Frank O. Gehry, The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA (formerly The Temporary Contemporary) opened in 1983.

This location offers 40,000 square feet of exhibition space, and a branch of the MOCA Store.

Located in the red-bricked historic Garnier Building, located at El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument across from downtown Los Angeles’ Union Station. Just follow the hanging lanterns, south of Olvera Street, to find the museum site.

Symbolically housed in the oldest and last surviving structure of Los Angeles’ original Chinatown, the 7,200 square foot Chinese American Museum embodies both a cultural and physical link to the past and a promising point of entry for the city’s multicultural future.

The mission of the Chinese American Museum is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation of America’s diverse heritage by researching, preserving, and sharing the history, rich cultural legacy, and continuing contributions of Chinese Americans.

On evenings of Public Programs, guests who purchase Museum admission at the Box Office after 6:00pm will receive a discounted rate of $8 per person.

There are 20,000 parking spots within a 10-minute walk of The GRAMMY Museum. See L.A. LIVE parking lots. Convenient on-site parking is also available. Parking lot entrance is located at the corner of Olympic Blvd and Francisco St. Parking rates vary and are subject to change throughout the day. Before 3pm, parking rates start at $8. After 3pm, visitors are subject to event parking rates.

MOCA is committed to the collection, presentation, and interpretation of American and Euroopean work produced since 1940 in all media, and to preserving that work for future generations. Museum objects in all visual media, ranging from masterpieces of abstract expressionism and pop art to recent works by young and emerging artists.

The Los Angeles Public Library exhibits are created from the vast resources in its collection as well as other sources. Exhibits are based on books and manuscripts, posters, photographs, and film.

The museum in itself is beautiful, besides all of the wonderful exhibits. The mission of the JANM is to promote the understanding and appreciation of America's ethnic and cultural diversity by sharing the Japanese American experience.

The exhibits range from art, history, politics, culture, individual and family stories, photography, to special events of music, storytelling, guest lectures, and theatrical productions.

They also have the Chado Tea Room where you can experience a range of Japanese teas. And they have a Little Tokyo Walking Tour.
